In a moment of weakness six people from Dorwest Herbs, the specialists in veterinary herbal medicine, have formed TEAM DORWEST, The team have decided to compete in this year’s ‘Coniston Challenge’ in the Lake District on 2 September 2006. The aim is to raise money for charity and the worthy cause is ‘GUIDE DOGS FOR THE BLIND’.
The challenge consists of hiking (or maybe crawling) to the summit of the ‘old man of Coniston’, then a 12-mile bike ride through Grizedale Forest. Then to top it all off they must canoe a course on Coniston Water for a few miles - all in under 10 hours!
The Dorwest Team HAVE to raise at least £2500 in total, so they are on a mission to get fundraising asap! If you would be kind enough to make any donation (however small) please click on www. justgiving.com/DORWEST - just the price of a few pints can help train and care for a guide dog for a day and make a real difference to people with impaired sight.
The team members are - Jo Boughton, Heather Bishop, Brian Bishop, Hannah Slater, Roly Boughton and James White and you can see them all on the attached link.
Mary Boughton, who is in charge of fundraising, said, “You will notice that I am NOT included! Just a bit too much for me at my great age and with my bad back, but both my son and daughter are in the team instead.” Mary will instead put her efforts into raising as much money as possible for the cause.
They are all really dedicated to completing this challenge so please, please support them!
