Our next show will be held on 15 July at our usual venue, the Deeside Leisure Centre.

Please would anyone holding a trophy from last year’s show return it by the end of June, or bring it with them on show day. Trophies can be returned to the North West Discount Pet Foods stall at any show they are attending, or to any Committee Member.

Amended directions for the AGM on 23 April, particularly for those travelling from the north!
Leave the M11 at Junction 8A from the south, Junction 8 from the north and head east on the A120 towards Colchester. After Stansted Airport take the B1256 towards Gt Dunmow West. Stay on this road pas the Tesco superstore. At the next roundabout bear left (Stortford Road) and at the mini roundabout bear right and Foakes Hall is on the left, just past Perkins Garage.
Also plans are well in hand for the opening ceremony of the Club’s welfare houses, which, as previously circulated, will take place on 7 May from 12.30pm at The Martletts, Upper Dicker, Hailsham, E. Sussex BN27 3QA. There will be a BBQ plus sandwich lunch provided. Please contact Lisa Underhill-Price if you intend to come or need further details on 01323 844023.
Directions to the Martletts as follows: From M25 take Junction 7, M23 south. Continue on M23 which becomes the A23 to the outskirts of Brighton where you pick up the A27 signposted Newhaven/Lewes. Go past Lewes (not through it) and on towards Eastbourne.
After approximately five miles you will reach Selmeston - go through and at the first mini roundabout take the first exit, signposted Upper Dicker. Go through the village of Berwich to Upper Dicker. Pass the Plough pub on the left, go through the pedestrian lights, then 200 yards on the left is a telephone box. Martletts is opposite on the right with a Siamese cat on a white sign.

British Shorthair Cat Club
The Club’s AGM was held on Sunday, 2 April at The Oliver Bird Hall in Solihull, and was well attended. Thanks to everyone who made the effort, it was great to see you.
Changes to our Committee - Mr Alex Welsh was due to stand down this year and with heavy judging commitments, he has rather reluctantly retired as our Hon Treasurer. Mr Andrew Brown of Kollinga British is now going to take over from Alex. Work commitments also forced Valerie Rhodes to retire from her position of Hon Secretary, and Mrs Sue Gibbon of Acmebrits has now taken over this position.
Mrs Christine Duffy has also taken on the role of Membership Secretary to make it even easier for Members to advertise on the Club website. There were no other changes in our current Committee, everyone is happy to carry on as normal.
We would all like to thank Alex and Valerie for all their hard work and commitment to the Club. Suitable gifts were bought as a sign of our appreciation.

The Wyvern Cat Club
The AGM took place on Sunday, 19 March 2006. It was well attended, and the Committee Members due for re-election were returned as before. Thanks go to the Committee for the lovely food provided.
It was disappointing to see a fall in the numbers of Members claiming points and rosettes, and whilst we congratulate those who gained titles during the previous year, we would like to see more people submit claim forms. A special congratulations goes to Mrs Heather Horton for her lovely Birman boy, Grand Champion Namrib Ghost, who was the Best Adult and Best Overall Exhibit. Well done Heather.
Now there is a plea to Members. It is time to recruit new blood! Within the next two years we will need a new Secretary, and ask interested people to contact Committee Members. We would also like to hear from anybody interest in show management, and from those willing to help on the day of our show.

Joint Rex BAC
There will be a Seminar for Cornish Rex, Devon Rex, LaPerm and Selkirk Rex to be held at The Millennium Memorial Hall, Astrop Road, Kings Sutton, Banbury, Oxfordshire OX17 3PG on 7 May 2006, commencing with lunch at 12 noon. There will also be Sphynx on exhibition which will not only enable judges to learn more about the breed but also see the subtle differences between Sphynx and Cornish and Devon Rex.
The afternoon will be most interesting and informative and the BAC looks forward to seeing Full Judges, Candidates on the scheme and all those interested in the above breeds. The Turkish BAC
At the Turkish BAC Meeting on 12 March 2006, the following Officers were elected: Chairman - Mr Julian Hague; Vice-Chairman - Mr Steve Lloyd; Hon Secretary - Mr Robert Cooper; Hon Treasurer - Mrs Fred Matthias.
Our Seminar will be held on Sunday, 22 October 2006 from 1.30pm till 5pm, at the Hermitage Village Hall, Hermitage, near Newbury, Berkshire. We hope that Judges, Stewards and anyone interested in the development of the Turkish Van and its white compatriot, the Turkish Vankedisi, will join us.
The cost is £7, to include a buffet lunch from 12.30pm, and this sum should be sent in advance to Mrs Melva Eccles, 25A Victoria Road, Bidford-on-Avon, Warks B50 4AS. Cheques should be made payable to the TBAC.

A Seminar for breeds in the Foreign Section is to be held at the Kings Sutton Memorial Hall, Astrop Road, Kings Sutton, Banbury, Oxon on 4 June 2006. The Seminar, which starts with lunch at 12 noon, will feature the following breeds: Egyptian Mau, Korat, Ocicat, Russian Blue, Singapura and Snowshoe.
Full Judges, Candidats on the schemes, breeders and owners alike will find the afternoon both interesting and informative. Tickets for the event are £9, and are available from me at 37 Alfred Road, Birchington-on-Sea, Kent CT7 9NJ. Please make your cheques/postal orders payable to the Ocicat BAC. Please enclose an SAE if you wish to have confirmation of receipt.
