Chester & North Wales Jubilee Show
Congratulations to Betty, Christine, Vicky, Peter and all the Committee of the Chester and North Wales Show for their 25th Anniversary Show on Saturday, 12 August.
As you can see from my photograph at the end of the show, there was plenty of pink bubbly, nice cake and plenty of smiles... even from those who didn’t want their photo taken! Good to see Nigel from Gwynedd working hard in many departments as well and Malcolm from Malcolm’s Penning, who penned the show.
My thanks to all the team for making Our Cats welcome and fitting our stand in the main hall..... no thanks, however, to the person who set off the fire alarm just after the show was over!
Fine for all you exhibitors who had left the scene, but for the hardy trade stand people, committee and feline press (me!), we all had to stand outside listening to the alarms and watching firemen rush around. Now that interested some of the girls, but it didn’t do a lot for me!
A full report by Chris Stalker and photos from both of us will follow in a forthcoming issue.
Lincs and Gwynedd
Also featured in this issue are two other shows where the Our Cats stand attended, and I am pleased to include many pictures of the winning cats and hardworking people at the events. The Our Cats family does its best to give you all good coverage from as many shows as possible.... not easy in this day and age with rising costs, print, petrol, postage etc all going up.
Your support by taking a regular subscription is not only appreciated, but vital to keep us going as THE BEST source of show news and information.
Renew over the phone or online, or see me or one of the team at the shows. In fact I will not be at Teesside, but the lovely Charlotte and equally lovely Brian (her other half!) will be flying the flag for Our Cats. Go and say hello and remember, if you win and have a good day, take an advert and tell everyone!
And don’t forget Mavis D and Sheila Hamilton and all the gang at Northern Counties which follows in that neck of the woods (Spennymoor) on September 9th. Phone Mavis on 0191 257 8329 for details.
North West Cat Show
Oh, here we go again, I can hear you say...another Northern Show. Well there’s a lot of em! I also get sent lots of information, so don’t forget to enter the North West Cat Club show on September 30th.
At Chester the Gaskells were doing their bit in promoting the show and I certainly moved a lot of schedules to prospective exhibitors.
Entries close on August 22nd but you may squeeze some in after the deadline if capacity isn’t reached. It’s the venue for the Regional final of the Royal Canin Non-Pedigree Stakes. All entries to Jenny Maddrell 01772 727341.
The Our Cats team hope to be at this show as well and we may be down South too, currently awaiting notification from one in September. Watch this space.
Talking of Royal Canin, it was good to see Christian Romeril from Royal Canin at Chester showing his cats; now there’s someone who knows the cat game from the ground floor up!
Supreme schedules were in short supply at Chester, although the enterprising Chris from Pursonnal Touch seemed to have organised a good stash. I have taken some information from the front of the schedule and reproduced here in the column. Again, watch this space!
