Report from the Meeting of Council
Held 21st June 2006

CHAIRMAN’S REPORT
The Chairman reported that on the hottest day of the year the move from Penel Orlieu to Kings Castle Business Park took place successfully. Only those who had visited Penel Orlieu would have an idea of the magnitude of the task. The Chairman hoped that anyone who was in the Bridgwater area would contact the Office to arrange a visit as it is after all the members Headquarters.

The Chairman also reported that Imperial Awards have been in operation for a year and believed that they were very popular in the Show World.

There are now 34 Imperial Grand Champions and 35 Imperial Grand Premiers.
The Chairman said that over the year she had represented The GCCF on the Cat Group. This is a Committee Chaired by Professor Oz Jarret. The Members are FAB, RSPCA, Blue Cross, B.S.A.V.A, Animal Health Trust, European Society of Feline Medicine, CPL and the GCCF. This collection of professional organisations is dedicated to feline welfare through the development and promotion of policies and recommendations in the care and keeping of all cats.

This year the G.C.C.F were accepted as Members of the World Cat Congress. This is another move for all interested cat people to share ideas and meet in mutual friendship.

CLUB RETURNS
The Office Manager reported that the Club Returns forms were sent out to all 143 clubs in February with the notification that they had to be returned to the Office by 1st May 2006. If the club could not return all that was required they were advised to send in as much as they could.
On the 13th April reminders were sent to 112 clubs advising them that we had not received any paperwork and if it was not received by 1st May they would not be able to have representation at the June Council Meeting.

At the Executive meeting on 3rd May it was reported that the Office had not received paperwork for three clubs and incomplete paperwork for 14 clubs.

It was agreed, as in the past, that the clubs with incomplete paperwork would be given two weeks to send in their paperwork. Any clubs with no paperwork would have not representation at the June Council Meeting.
