Many thanks from the National Show Managers

The National Cat Club hosted its 110th Championship Show at Olympia on 9th December. I have received many letters and cards saying how much people enjoyed the show and what a great atmosphere there was.

Exhibitors and public also commented on the layout of the hall this year and how the stands were placed, they said they liked it a lot better than in the past and there was still plenty of room to move around.

We have also been asked why so many shows are around us, and I have explained that this is something that the National cannot control as the licences are given to shows around us, including on the same day which, of course, affects our entry severely. We are fortunate that the show still attracts a large number of the public.

If the National is to survive then it needs the support of the exhibitors, and we ask you, please, if you want the National to continue, then please support the show, after all, the National is from where the GCCF was founded.

We would like to thank the loyal supporters of the National who come year after year, and also the people and companies who gave sponsorship to the National this year – one stall holder saying 2007 must be ‘Save The National’ year!!!

On a final note, it is a pleasure to work with the National team who are a devoted, hard working, fun loving bunch of people and due to the many years we have worked together everything slots into place, they do not need to be told what needs doing, it just gets done.

Without these friends (some of whom were babies when we first started show management) we would not be able to manage the show. We do not want to mention individual names for fear of missing someone out, but we would like to give our sincere thanks to everyone for all their hard work, however, we would like to mention Bryan Holmes and thank him for his tremendous efforts and great success as Hall Manager.

We have already been offered sponsorship in various areas for 2007 and would love to hear from anyone who would like to give sponsorship, no matter how small, but most of all, please bring your cats back to The National so it can survive.
