Meeting of the Disciplinary Committee
was held on
Wednesday, 14 December 2005
at Friends House, 173-177 Euston Road, London NW1 2BJ

The Investigation Committee preferred a formal complaint against Miss M. Simpson of 56 Barnsley Road, Wombwell, Barnsley, South Yorkshire S73 8DY.

That the Defendant is in breach of Article 12(1)(a) and/or 12(1)(b) (paragraph 1) and/or 12(1)(d) of the GCCF Constitution in that:

She attended the Chester and North Wales Cat Club Show held on Saturday, 13 August, 2005, as an exhibitor, bringing with her in her car one of her cats, a British Shorthair, pet name HONESTLY, who was kittening. Honestly had three kittens before the Defendant set out for the show, and had an emergency caesarean during the day to deliver four more kittens.
By this action the Defendant acted in a way that was, or may have been:

(i) discreditable and/or prejudicial to the welfare of the queen and her kittens and/or the breeding of cats and/or

(ii) discreditable and/or prejudicial to the interests of the GCCF and/or any affiliated Club.
Miss Simpson attended the hearing.

Miss Simpson admitted the fact that she had attended the show and had had the kittening cat in her car, but denied that it had been detrimental or prejudicial to the cat’s and kittens’ welfare for her to have done so. Miss Simpson read a statement to the Disciplinary Committee.

The Disciplinary Committee by a majority found the complaint against Miss Simpson proved, and by a unanimous decision, ordered that she be censured and warned, within the meaning of Article 12(4)(c)(i) of the GCCF Constitution.

The Disciplinary Committee directed that Miss Simpson pay the sum of £100 by way of costs.
