New Animal Care College courses accredited by the Open College Network

A NEW EU The Animal Care College, which has been providing courses in animal care for over 25 years, is a full member of the National Open College Network (NOCN), the UK’s foremost provider of accreditation awards for adult learning.

Most courses provided by the College now attract Nationally recognised ‘credits’ towards further and higher education. Many courses have been updated and revised to ensure they fulfil the requirements of NOCN and this has resulted in a change in the Levels of some courses. Fit for Life is now a Level 2 course, Grooming (Theory) in line with the Pet Care Trust’s Grooming qualification, is now a Level 3 course as is Anatomy and Physiology of Dogs and Cats.

Other courses accredited include the Diploma of Kennel Management (Level 3), National Small Animal Care Certificate (Level 2), Advanced Nutrition (Level 3), Diploma in Advanced Animal Care and Management (Level 3), Modern Theories of Canine Behaviour and Training (Level 3), Canine Massage (Level 3), Canine Behaviour Counselling (Level 3), Canine First Aid (Level 2) and Feline First Aid (Level 2). The College’s highly successful qualification in canine psychology has been revised too and has been reaccredited for a further five years. Many of these courses, apart from being accredited in their own right, may be used to support National Vocational Qualifications and the Kennel Club’s Accreditation Scheme for dog trainers and behaviourists.
