Semi Long Hair Cat Association
A very successful AGM was held this year in the Oliver Bird Hall on 7th May 2006, with 32 Members attending. Heather Horton (Chair), welcomed Members and guests. She reported on the successful year of the club and on our recently held fourth Championship Show run by our Show Manager, Shirley Talboys with Di Taylor as Assistant Show Manager.
There are no changes to the Committee as all four Committee Members up for re-election, Heather Horton, Gordon Stables, Di Taylor and Fiona Hermon, were willing to stand again, so in the absence of other applicants, all four will continue to serve on the Committee. Other Committee Members are - Shirley Talboys (Vice Chair), Elaine Harvey (Hon Secretary), Charles Eveniss (Treasurer), Dawn Davies, Anne Waite, Mary-Rose Douglas, Mary Cockcroft, Mandy Symonds, Chris Campion and Dot Stables (Co-opt). For the 2007 show, Shirley Talboys and Di Taylor will be Joint Show Managers.
At the AGM, Charles reported that our finances remain sound. This year the main fundraising came from the calendar sales, which were a sell-out, thanks to Dawn Davies who produced a superb SLHCA Calendar again for 2006. Also the Garden Party held at the home of Dawn, which was a joint event shared with the UKRCC, a Ragdoll Rescue and Rehome group, raised a large contribution to club funds. Through Dot Stables, as Show Support Secretary, we offer support to the breed clubs by offering club classes, also at the Supreme and the National Cat Club. Fiona Hermon reported that there were 63 Members listed on the Breeder’s List at the end of 2005. Mary Cockcroft edited a greatly enhanced club magazine with pages of informative and entertaining articles and lots of colour pages included.
Two more events to be held by the SLHCA this year, were announced to Members: The Annual Garden Party at the home of Mandy Symonds at 12 Coton Road, Churchover, Warwickshire, will be held on Sunday, 20th August 2006. Tickets are £6, to include food and drink and there will be lots to do and stalls to visit. We hope to meet up with our Members and their friends, so do come along for a friendly and fun afternoon. New Members are particularly welcome. Details will appear in the newsletter or by contacting Mandy on 01788 832972 or Dawn on 01442 381509.
A Photographic Event has been organised by the SLHCA, in conjunction with Alan Robinson, to be held in the Oliver Bird Hall, Solihull on Sunday, 24th September 2006. Members and friends of the Cat Fancy can bring along their cats to be photographed by Alan, by appointment. This means that vetting-in and the 13 day rule regarding shows does not apply. Cost is £37.50 per sitting (to include one or two cats together), six prints and one A4 enlargement. Please bring along your cat(s), kittens or HP’s for this special offer. Contact Heather Horton for details and bookings on 0121 422 6030.
Following a refreshment break, the Club Points Competition trophies were awarded. Meanwhile don’t forget to look at our website which Mary regularly updates, www.semilonghaircats.co.uk and on which this years show photos are displayed. Points Trophy awards and show winners will be reported in full in our autumn magazine.

Havana & Oriental Lilac Cat Club
The Club’s AGM was held on Sunday, 2 April 2006 and the Committee Members due to stand down by rotation were re-elected. Babs and Peter Bailey were elected and welcomed onto the Committee.

Concerns were raised regarding the judging of Oriental cats being the same as for Siamese cats with regard to ear sets, type, etc., and so to the correct colour of the Havana coat. Letters noting our concerns will be sent to OJBAC for discussion.
Congratulations were expressed to our Members whose cats gained titles during the past show year - Ch Toghar Mojhita (F) (29), Mrs J. Hirst; Ch Moralyn Lymanopal (F) (29c), Mrs M. The Colourpoint Society of Great Britain
At the AGM of The Colourpoint Society of Great Britain on 9 April 2006, it was decided to stop awarding cups and trophies at our annual show. This is for a number of reasons - problems with insurance, storage and management and a general lack of interest in winners wanting to take them home.
If anyone has donated a cup or trophy to the Society and would like to have it returned, please contact the Secretary, Mrs Julie Colin on 01634 686097 or e-mail email@example.com. uk or write to 98 Dargets Road, Walderslade, Chatham, Kent ME5 8BP.
Therefore, at our show on 4 November 2006, any unclaimed cups and trophies will be awarded to winners to keep.
Julie Colin, Hon Secretary
Long Haired & Semi Long Haired Cat Club
The AGM was held on Sunday, 26 March at Otford Village Hall, Otford, Kent. The Officers and Committee are as follows: Chairman - Mr Geoffrey Tarr, Vice-Chairman & Membership Secretary - Mr Robin Kempe; Hon Secretary - Mrs Carolyn Kempe; Treasurer - Mrs Nicky Goulter; Kitten Register & Welfare - Mrs Nicky Goulter; GCCF Delegate - Mr Geoffrey Tarr; Reserve GCCF Delegate - Mr Robin Kempe. Committee Members - Mrs Carol Tarr, Ms Lynsey Thomas, Mrs Rosemary Lowen, Mr & Mrs Semos.
The AGM was followed by a most interesting and informative presentation by Peter and Peta Spooner on the work that they do for Persian Rescue. Some of the circumstances from which Persian cats are rescued were alarming and distressing. Members were unanimously pleased that Mr & Mrs Spooner had given even further of their time to come to talk to the meeting, and were delighted that the Club’s welfare donations were given to such capable and sincere people.
The Spooners are well known at many southern cat shows for their table offering a variety of cat ‘goodies’ for sale, but their work extends widely throughout the country and is highly respected by everyone.
Please also note that the Club’s Annual Championship Show will be held on Saturday, 7 October at the Bracknell Sports & Leisure Centre, Bracknell, Berks. Show Managers will be Carol and Ron Pike.
Carolyn Kempe (Mrs), Hon Secretary
