Streetwise cat performance

ON my travels in Helsinki at the European Dog Show, not only did we sell copies of OUR CATS Annual, but we were amazed to find performing cats in the main centre of the capital.
The cats seemed to have a good time and worked well with a performing Poodle... I kid you not.
Some may find this distressing, but the cast seemed to have a great time.

OUR CATS team members Brian McKeever and my PA, Charlotte Cordingley, met the cats, as seen in my photos.

Thanks to Manchester

Apologies for the belated appearance of the Committee ‘team’ photo. Thanks team for a great show at Urmston recently.

Corrections & Apologies

In OUR CATS (2 June), Mrs Kalal’s report for SLH Breeders Female at the Bedford & District Cat Club Show did not mention that Yvonne Barnes’ GR CH MAKEITSO ANNIKA HANSEN was awarded X2 (extra 2nd), this was the result on the scoreboard at the show. Yvonne was very proud that her girl had been placed and was looking forward to reading Mrs Kalal’s report. We are now glad to mention this award. Well done.

In the article by Joan Judd on Ear Placement & Type in the Havana, Siamese and Oriental in OUR CATS (2 June, Issue No. 1091), their was an error in the first column of the article. The paragraph containing the error is printed below with the correction in bold and underlined:
As one of the first five breeders of the Havana (1952) - and the last remaining one! - I have, in my time, been accused of liking them too typey, but this was essential if they were not to clash with, or take the glory from the Burmese, so type was all important; unfortunately, over the years, the Siamese SOP has been changed and misinterpreted, and for some unexplained reason, the Havana has been “drawn into its net” - a cat in its own right - but NOW, in many cases, it is quite unlike the original concept; it has no place in the Siamese SOP!
OUR CATS apologises for the error.

Joan Smith would like to correct an error in her BRT, T&W & Smoke Show Report in the last issue of OUR CATS (16 June, Issue No. 1092. The caption under the black kitten named as Jayjon Special Delivery should have been captioned JAYJON OFTHEMARQUE. Apologies for this error.

IN OUR CATS, Issue 1092, 16 June, there were two errors printed in Jackie Reed’s reports of classes at the Bedford & District CC Show. In AC Siamese, Balinese or Oriental Non-Breeder’s Adult class, Kat Waddon’s APORTENT MIXEDMINX (37e) was described as a Chocolate Oriental Tortie. He is in fact a Black Tortie. In the Senior Neuter class at the same show, Jackie Reed called Waddon’s CHINASEA ARIA (37e) a strong balanced lad. Aria is in fact a girl.
Apologies for these errors.
