I would like to thank all those exhibitors who responded to my letter in OUR CATS and brought along items for the raffle at our show on 11 February. Really the response was quite overwhelming, which produced a bumper raffle, resulting in the handsome total of £84.60 towards Club funds. You were all most generous, and the Committee thanks you for your support.
May I remind those who have not renewed yet that subscriptions for 2006 are now due and have been increased to £8 joint and £5 single, with £1 joining fee remaining the same.
Eileen Peachey, Membership Secretary
West of Scotland Cat Club
The 25th AGM of the West of Scotland Cat Club is to be held at the BBC Club, 1 Botanic Crescent, Glasgow on Sunday, 9 April at 12 noon.

Should you wish to nominate anyone who is willing to stand, please return the completed slips to me at 101 North Road, Bellshill, Lanarkshire ML4 1QZ by first post, Wednesday, 5 April 2006.
We have had lots of positive feedback on our show in December and the Committee of the West of Scotland Cat Club would like to thank everyone who contributed to the show’s success. We would like to thank the exhibitors for our increased entry, but most of all we would like to thank all the people who are the backbone of any successful show - the people who did the table, the results, the rosettes, sold the raffle tickets, manned the doors and the club stall, helped with vetting-in and stewarding. We couldn’t have done it without you - you were great!
The Club now has a website at westofscotlandcat club.co.uk - please pay us a call.
If you are interested in a listing on this site, please contact our webmaster, Ian Thomson, Tel. 01355 903109.

Janet Starr, Show Manager
Lakeland & District Cat Club
At the AGM of the Lakeland & District CC on 29 January 2006, the subject of the number of trophies the Club has accumulated over the years, and the problems of the distribution and care of said trophies created was raised.
After a long discussion, it was decided at the AGM that all trophies the Club held should either be returned to the donors or distributed amongst other Clubs that may like to have them.
Tracing some of the trophy donors may prove difficult, so if anyone who donated a trophy or trophies to the Club could contact Mrs S. Mackereth (Secretary) Tel. 01229 462754 or email shemac@ btinternet.com to discuss the return of same.
There are a good number of the trophies being held by the winners from last years show, so obviously we shall have to wait until they are returned to the Club before, or at this years show.
A rwsolution was passed at the AGM for the Club to provide ONE trophy for the Overall Best in Show winner and ONE trophy each for the Best in Section winners.

The Surrey & Sussex Cat Association
Important Notice! Cups and Trophies. After much discussion and deliberation, the Committee of the Surrey & Sussex Cat Association has decided to stop awarding cups and trophies at its annual show. This is for a number of reasons - problems with insurance, storage, replacement of damaged or missing cups and the general lack of interest shown by Club Members who, in many cases, are not willing to take the cups they have won.
Therefore, at our show on 18 March, we will be awarding cups on a one-off basis, i.e. those who have won the cups will be able to keep them permanently. We are retaining the oldest and most valuable cups for Best in Show, but all the remaining trophies, as far as possible will be given out on the day to winning exhibitors.
If anyone has donated a cup to the Club and would like to have it back (or knows anyone who has who may see this notice) could they please contact Kym jarvis on email@example.com or Jane Spall on firstname.lastname@example.org with details, or phone me on 01737 769040, or write to me at 6 Nutfield Road, Redhill, Surrey RH1 4AU by 17 March, or see us on show day.

Even if you cannot make it to the AGM, we would love to hear from you if you have any ideas on how to make this an extra special event.
We will also be having our regular raffle in aid of Club funds, so any donations of prizes would be much appreciated.
