Well here we are again, getting ready for our next Championship Show so soon, where has the year gone? This is the second Championship Show for the Manchester & District Cat Club and we, the Committee, are looking forward to welcoming all our exhibitors, judges and team of vets. We know it will be a busy, but fantastic day.
As many of you may know, we have a change to our team, and we are very pleased to welcome Margaret Walkden as this year’s Show Manager. We were very fortunate that Margaret, who is a very busy judge, was able to act for us, and we are most grateful to Margaret for accepting the position. On a personal note, I am really looking forward to working with Margaret as Assistant Show Manager.
Once again we are at the G. H. Carnall Leisure Centre, Urmston, Manchester, and for those of you who like to shop, the hall is positioned approximately one mile from the Trafford Centre, so bring the ploastic, as it is just across the motorway. For those who prefer to stay in the centre there will be plenty of stalls for you to browse round and a bar from 11.30am to 3.30pm, where you can get together and celebrate. This year we will be having the use of a second large room where we will locate result boards and more stalls, this means that the show is all one one level with no stairs to worry about, and there is easy access for wheelchair users.
This year, as with all the shows, we will be having the Imperial Class, and for the Household Pets, there is the Manchester & District Super Pet Class and Royal Canin Class. We want to make it a fun day for all and feel sure most of last year’s exhibitors will be returning, as we had fantastic feedback regarding our first Championship Show from exhibitors and judges.
We look forward to seeing you all at the show on 6 May.
Paula Clarke (Assistant Show Manager)
