Catnap Cattery is in the village of Reagill, near Penrith, Cumbria and is the only FAB accredited Cattery in Cumbria.
On Sunday, 13 August, to raise funds for Pets Lifeline, Jen Beasley, the owner and manager of Catnap, organised a fete and opened the cattery grounds to the public.
The fete was opened by actress Glenda McKay (Rachel in Emmerdale). Apart from signing autographs and browsing round the stalls and car boot sale, Glenda cut a celebratory cake and drew the raffle.
The Lakeland & District Cat Club had a tombola stall, Hill’s were represented by Eddie and partner, the local ‘vets’ did a demonstration on pill-giving and nail-clipping (cats of course), there were numerous car-booters, charity stalls, two beautiful Bernese Mountain Dogs pulling little flower-filled carts, pedigree cat breeds were represented quite well, being Persians, Exotics, Havanas, Orientals, Ragdolls and Maine Coons. Of course there were refreshments too.
The afternoon went well, the only down side to the proceedings was the weather. It did manage to stay dry but it was dull and overcast with a cool wind.
Many thanks go to all that supported the event.
