Obituary - Mrs June Tucker
“FEELING better today” and “You’ve just got to get on with it”, characterised June’s attitude to her illness. Sadly she died on 20th July, 2007.
June is well known to Members of the Someret Cat Club as a great support and loyal, willing worker: one who didn’t seek thanks or recognition for all the help she gave, working with the raffle, tombola, making cakes for the AGM and Trophy Tea Party, washing-up after a meeting, supporting outings.
Her other side was her unstinting and ready friendship. June was the same person to everyone she met, always being specially welcoming to first time exhibitors and visitors to the shows. She continued showing her two beloved cats because she enjoyed meeting the friends she had made through showing. As an exhibitor she was always constant, as pleased for another whose cat had done well as she was when her own cat won an award. “It was a beautiful cat”, she would say.
Many of us have lost a close personal friend. I believe others will feel about June as I do, that it has been a privilege and joy that our paths have crossed. Our thoughts of comfort go to Ralph, June’s husband, and to her two sons. Thank you June. You gave so much.
