Cats Protection – the UK’s leading feline welfare charity - has around 7,000 unwanted and abandoned cats in its care at any one time and is desperately appealing for loving new owners to come forward.
Officially the UK’s favourite pet, cats can make great companions owing to the love and support they offer. Betty Boud, Manager of the charity’s National Cat Adoption Centre in Chelwood Gate, Sussex said:
“A cat can be a great friend to help us get through life’s ups and downs. Studies show a feline friend can help us to relax more, feel less lonely and even help us to overcome a personal crisis such as bereavement.
“We want to help you find your ideal match so why not get in contact with us and see if one of our special cat companions catches your eye?”
Furthermore, a survey conducted by Cats Protection in 2006 revealed that opposites attract when it comes to choosing a pet cat. The survey of 8,000 responses showed outgoing owners tended to go for shy cats, whilst shy owners tended to go for cats with character and confidence! Why not see if this is the case for you?
