The Winter Newsletter was mailed to Members on 13 December and should have been received by that weekend or early the following week. However, we do find that copies occasionally go astray, so, if anyone did not receive it they should contact the Membership Secretary, Angela Clements on 01582 833239, as she has the spare copies. This time a number of copies have been returned to the printer by the Post Office because changes of address have not been notified.

Deadline date for the Summer Magazine is Saturday, 17 February, for booking of advertising space, including the stud advert pages, and for receipt of articles, news, show success and other photo stories. A few colour advert pages are still available, so, Members, if you have not already booked and would like a full, half or quarter page, please don’t delay or you may be disappointed. Call me now on 0151-625 6641 or e-mail lingcomb.birmans@virgin.net. We also welcome trade advertising - rates on application.

A membership renewal form was included in the Winter Newsletter, so don’t forget to renew or you will not receive the Summer issue.

The Birman Cat Club

A gentle reminder to all Birman Cat Club Members concerning claiming points for your cats’ wins throughout the year 1st January to 31st December 2006.

We are now into 2007 and our mammoth task to collate points for all your show cats is well under way. We are grateful to the small band of people who assist us throughout the year by sending us results of the shows we have not attended. The remainder of results we obtain from Our Cats, which is a mammoth task in itself and, of course, some may be missed.

We NEED and indeed IMPLORE you to send in your Points Forms which you will find at the rear of the Birman Cat Club Magazine, or download from the Club website. Our wish is to find every single point won by each and every cat throughout the year. We cannot do it without your help. If you own one cat and have shown it once during the year - WE NEED THAT POINT. We require the forms by 31st January 2007.

The trophies awarded at the AGM in 2006 are due to be returned at the AGM in April 2007. Anyone wishing to return them prior to the AGM can contact either Theresa Groves, 27 Laurel Close, Red Lodge, Suffolk IP28 8LN. Tel. 01638 552374, Email theresagroves@catlovers.co.uk OR Caroline Groves, 45 Magnolia Close, Red Lodge, Suffolk, IP28 8TP. Tel. 01638 751978, Email caroline@spellsinger- birmans.co.uk to discuss means of doing so. Anyone intending to attend the AGM will, of course, be required to return them then.

The winners of each category and colour, plus the Overall Adult, Kitten and Neuter will NOT be available until the beginning of April. Caroline’s task of presenting the data is more than mammoth, and the final winners are not revealed, even to us, until the final draft. We then inform the owners of the Best Adult, Kitten and Neuter and the Overall Best. It is only fair that they are informed before anyone else.

Anyone wishing to obtain the comprehensive list that Caroline prints can do so by sending a large SAE to us. This list shows where each show cat has come in the scheme. She began this three years ago and it has become very popular. They will be available after the April AGM 2007.
