LINCOLN CAT CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW - Saturday 14th July 2007, The Dome Leisure Centre, Bawtry Road, Doncaster, South Yorkshire.
THIS Saturday sees the Lincolnshire Cat Club’s 31st Championship Show. In a break with tradition, the show is being staged – for this year only – at the Dome Leisure Centre in Doncaster.
This temporary shift of venue was brought about by an administrative error, apparently caused by staff changes at the Lincolnshire Showground complex, which resulted in the venue being let out to another user on the second Saturday in July, the spot traditionally occupied by Lincoln Show.
Joint Show Managers Naomi Johnson and Sheena Cook assure exhibitors however that this is only a one-off move and that the show will be back at its usual home at Lincolnshire Showground in July 2008.
Naomi Johnson told OUR CATS: ‘Of course the move was inconvenient to us, but it was the best deal that the Club could get to ensure that the show went ahead on its usual date. Despite this, still have the same excellent level of support from exhibitors as we’ve had in previous years. The 2006 Show was a great success and we are confident that the 2007 show will be too. This year, we extended the deadline for the closure of entries and have a total entry of 420 exhibits, which is very similar to 2006.
‘The Dome is a very familiar venue to regular exhibitors - both the Humberside and Yorkshire Shows have been held there. We will have our usual excellent range of stalls selling cat-related goods, with the added advantage that stalls will be open for trading all day. So come along and have a great day at Lincoln in ‘Donny’.’
OUR CATS will have a stand at Lincoln Show and our roving reporter Carol Walker will be in attendance to cover all the news at the show.
