Meeting of the Disciplinary Committee
was held on WEDNESDAY, 13 DECEMBER 2006
at the
FRIENDS HOUSE, 173 EUSTON ROAD, LONDON NW1 2BJ

The Investigation Committee preferred a formal complaint against Mrs Langham of 3 Cairneyhill Road, Crossford, Dunfermline, Fire KY12 8NZ. Prefix: ALNAKEED.

On 3 March, 2006, Mrs Langham signed and forwarded to the GCCF Office a Registration Application form to register three Sphynx female kittens, ALNAKEED MISS PINK, ALNAKEED TEELA and ALNAKEED ZIGGY, with the date of birth given as 1 September, 2005, the dam named as ALNAKEED FENNORE and the sire named as TOPAZE DU CLOS DES ORCHIDEES. Mrs Langham stated that there were three kittens in the litter. On 13 July, 2006, a Registration Application form was received by the GCCF Office, signed by the Defendant on 10 July, 2006, to register a female Sphynx cat, ALNAKEED LARGO, with the date of birth given as 1 September, 2005, the dam named as ALNAKEED FENNORE and the sire named as TOPAZE DU CLOS DES ORCHIDEES. The Defendant stated that there were four kittens in the litter.

By signing the declaration on the Registration Application form on 3 March, 2006, stating that there were three kittens in the litter, not four, the Defendant was in breach of the GCCF Rules, Section 1, Rule 3a.

Mrs Langham did not attend the hearing, nor was she represented.
Mrs Langham admitted the complaint and provided a statement and a letter from her Doctor in mitigation.

The Disciplinary Committee found the complaint against Mrs Langham proven on her own admission and ordered that she be censured and warned within the meaning of Article 12(4)(c)(i) of the GCCF Constitution.

The Disciplinary Committee further ordered that Mrs Langham be fined an amount of £50, such fine to be paid within 28 days, in accordance with Articles 12(4)(c)(ii).

The Disciplinary Committee also directed that Mrs Langham pay the sum of £50 by way of costs in accordance with Articles 12(11)(a) and 12(11)(b).

Dr G. Bennett left the room whilst the Disciplinary Committee heard the case against Mr Ravenshear.
The Investigation Committee preferred a formal complaint against Mr D. Ravenshear of 2 Panmure Street, Montrose, Angus DD10 8EZ. Prefix: HIGHIQ.

Whilst officiating as Show Manager for the Siamese Cat Society of Scotland, Mrs Ravenshear engaged Dr B. Bennett as a judge for the show, which was to be held on 18th July, 2006. However, on 19th June, 2006, or thereabouts, Mr Ravenshear removed him as a judge without giving any reasons, which resulted in a breach of contract.

By this action, the Defendant acted in a way that was discreditable and prejudicial to the welfare of cats or the interest of cat owners or the breeding or exhibiting of cats, within the meaning of said articles.

Mr Ravenshear did not attend the hearing, nor was he represented.
Mr Ravenshear denied the complaint and provided a statement and exhibits in his defence.
The Investigation Committee called one witness.

The Disciplinary Committee, by a large majority decision, found the complaint against Mr Ravenshear proven, and by a majority ordered that he be disqualified from being concerned in the management of any Show held under the Rules of the Council for a period of 1 year, and that he be censured and warned within the meaning of Article 12(4)(b)(v) and 12(4)(c)(i) of the GCCF Constitution.

The Disciplinary Committee further ordered that Mr Ravenshear be fined an amount of £50, such fine to be paid within 28 days, in accordance with Articles 12(4)(c)(ii).

The Disciplinary Committee also directed that Mr Ravenshear pay the sum of £100 by way of costs in accordance with Articles 12(11)(a) and 12(11)(b).
