‘Flying vets’ take the plunge for charity

Four members of Cats Protection’s veterinary team will be jumping out of a plane at 12,000 feet in a bid to help the thousands of needy felines currently in the charity’s care.

Vet TeamThe team, which includes Maggie Roberts, the charity’s Head of Veterinary Services, will be taking the plunge on 31 May at Headcorn Airfield in Kent and hope their efforts will raise over £1,500 for the charity.

Other members of the team making the leap are Vanessa Howie, Field Veterinary Officer, and Veterinary Administrators Trish Burke and Gemma Cook.

Maggie Roberts explained: “As a vet team that serves the UK’s leading cat charity, we fully understand the costs and time involved in caring for the thousands of cats in the charity’s care and as Cats Protection has an extremely dedicated band of volunteers who give up many hours of their own time to raise vital funds for the charity, we were keen to do our bit as well. I have always wanted to skydive so this is the perfect opportunity to fulfil a lifelong ambition and help cats at the same time!”
