Don’t forget that National Pet Month is under way and runs until 5th May 2008!
In order to celebrate the event, National Pet Month has been running a photographic competition. Pet owners were given the opportunity to enter their pet into the ‘Hall of Fame’ photographic exhibition and make their pet a star!
The exhibition takes place as part of an exclusive event at Selfridges, London. Launching on ‘Wet Nose Day’, April 23rd, the exhibition will run until 5th May 2008. Unfortunately, the closing date was 15th April but you can still take part by visiting the exhibition, which is helping to raise awareness of animal welfare and responsible pet ownership.
Budding photographers were able to enter their pets into one of seven categories. These include: Cats Caught in Action; Crazy Cats and Dynamic Dogs and Best Friends.
Phil Sketchley, chairman of NPM says of the event: ‘The ‘Hall of Fame’ Exhibition will give the UK’s pet owning population a chance to show off their loyal, lovable companions to the nation. We hope that by creating this photographic exhibition, we can encourage pet owners to appreciate their animals more, and to follow the National Pet Month tips for responsible pet ownership to ensure that their pet leads a happy and enjoyable life.’
He continued: ‘Throughout National Pet Month there are lots of other fun and informative events going on all around the country. Have a look on our website to see what’s on in your area and get involved!’
