Were you the one member of the audience always rooting for Tom rather than Jerry? Or is the suave Top Cat the one feline sweet-talking his way into your heart? The votes are being cast for the nation’s favourite felines.
The Feline Advisory Bureau (FAB) has asked cat lovers everywhere to vote for their favourite feline in television, film, cartoons, advertising and literature. The most popular in each category will be revealed at the Golden Cat Awards as part of the Feline Advisory Bureau’s 50th anniversary celebrations, sponsored by Petplan.
FAB, a leading feline charity dedicated to promoting the health and welfare of cats, hopes to learn more about the everyday lives of cats. The survey will aid them by gathering information on cats’ preferences: where they prefer to sleep or what their favourite games are, for example.
There is also a category for clever and heroic pet cats in the FAB Golden Cat Awards. This has been put in place by Petplan, sponsors of the FAB’s Golden Anniversary celebrations, who are looking for the UK’s most heroic cat, as voted for by the public.
Head of Marketing for Pet Plan, Simon Wheeler, said: “Petplan is delighted to be supporting FAB in their 50th anniversary year and to be part of the Golden Cat Awards. Celebrating feline heroism is one way we can recognise the impact cats make to many people’s lives whether it be a cat who has saved lives or changed someone’s life for the better. However, big or small, we’d love to hear about it.”
On top of all this, if your clever cat has a special trick – from opening doors to drinking from taps – let FAB know on the Nation’s Feline Favourites entry form.
If you wish to take part in the survey, simply click on your selection on the Nation’s Feline Favourites entry form provided on the FAB website - www.fabcats.org/quiz/index.php. Each completed entry is placed in a draw for the chance to win one of five iPod shuffles.
The closing date for entries is May 30th. The Golden Cat Awards will be presented in July in London. Results will also be posted on the FAB website - www.fabcats.org.
