Emily is crowned Britain’s Purrrfect Cat Of The Year Award

At five-years-old Emily went missing only to be found two weeks later accidentally locked in a disused stable with no food or water. Severely dehydrated, Emily recovered remarkably.

Now 18-years-old this lovable cat has been crowned the Purrrfect Cat of the Year in a nationwide competition.

Owner Janette Evans, of Christleton Chester, was over the moon when her faithful feline was voted Britain’s Top Cat after nominating her at her local pet shop, Wendy’s Pet Shop in Malpas.
The Purrrfect Cat of the Year Award is launched every year by Seven Seas Pet and Animal Healthcare and is hugely popular with cat owners across the country.

Emily has been with Janette for a very long time sharing every hope, joy and fear. In her silence Janette finds strength, in her unfailing presence she finds solace.

Says Janette: “When my daughter came home from hospital Emily never left her side. Despite being in pain with the ‘dodgy’ hips, she’d climb the stairs every morning hauling herself onto my daughter’s bed and stay there curled up all day with that steady, reassuring purr radiating a sense of peace and calm, providing a level of comfort and companionship.

“Emily’s rabbitting and mousing days are long gone; she’s a dignified old lady with her quiet little ways - a precious and much loved friend.”

Janette and Emily won a trophy and £500 Thomson’s holiday vouchers.
They are also now the proud winners of the Kitzyme Purrrfect of the Year Award.
