FAB Edinburgh feline study day: ‘hearts and minds’


THE Feline Advisory Bureau (FAB) Edinburgh feline study day to be held on Friday, 27 May at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies will take a close look at some conditions affecting the behaviour of cats and selected cardiac problems.

Speakers are from the Edinburgh Veterinary School. Sponsored by Hill’s Pet Nutrition and Intervet, the meeting is open to veterinary surgeons and nurses, breeders, cat owners and anyone working with fantastic felines!

The topics of congenital cardiac defects and cardiomyopathies will be discussed by two senior clinical scholars in cardiology, Craig Devine and Richard Woolley. Older cats will come to the fore when FAB Lecturer in Feline Medicine, Kerry Simpson, will look at hypertension, and Danièlle Gunn-Moore, Senior Lecturer in Feline Medicine, at cognitive dysfunction.

Behavioural development in kittens will be discussed by Feline Behaviour Counsellor Vicki Halls and FAB Senior Clinical Scholar, Nicki Reed, will look at seizures in cats.
