Three Times a Gentleman!
Lebreton Prince Akanosh (aka Flyn)
It is very strange how our decisions in life are sometimes determined for us and this was the case with our white Siamese boy Flyn.
Flyn was the result of a mating with a very famous stud boy called Gr Ch Heatherbec Al Fayed owned by Sylvia Gibbons and our white girl Ch Michant Daysinwhitesatin who we had from Georgina Siviter. He was one of several whites in the litter and it has to be said that we thought two others were better than him for showing and breeding ….how wrong we were.
About three years ago we decided to breed white Siamese and introduce them into our breeding programme along side our Siamese. Although they are called Foreign whites under GCCF they are genetically white Siamese carrying the same genes. Under other governing bodies they are called by different names. FIFe they are white Siamese, GCCF they are Foreign Whites and just to confuse everyone under TICA they are Blue eyed short haired orientals.
Flyn was entered into many GCCF shows as a kitten and then as an adult and was beaten only once in an open class on his way to becoming Grand Champion, which he achieved at the 2003 Supreme show along with a Best in Variety.
It was at that time that Flyn had to be stopped from being shown under GCCF as it was discovered that he had Havana Brown in his pedigree and this is not allowed under their rules.
We were devastated that the show world had lost such a beautiful example of his breed until Julia May suggested that we show under the international federation called FIFE who have some 40 countries involved under their banner.
For ourselves this has been the icing on the cake, because in February of this year he was made up to International Grand Premier…a feat that needs 15 certificates.
Along the way Flyn was entered into the first TICA show held in the UK in December 2004 and on the day was awarded with Grand Champion Alter.
We believe that Flyn is the only home bred boy to hold three Grand Titles under three different Governing bodies, this record from a cat that we were not going to keep!!
We are hoping that given time that his grandson Keelokan Mac Flurry, bred by Maureen Martin, will follow in his footsteps a big task but he has already beaten grandad at a recent show.
Just now and then you are allowed to have a cat come into your life that is extra special and for Lyn and Myself that is the lovely Flyn who is just simply the best.

USA Police Warning -
Police have issued a warning to all dog owners: Watch your dog! A sniper has been picking off dogs one at a time and almost a dozen have been killed or wounded so far. These horrible attacks have occurred predominantly on the south coast.
(Sent by Brian Doyle)
Police say they have a suspect and an arrest warrant has been issued, but so far they haven’t been able to nab him. Police have distributed a photo (above) of the alleged suspect, so please keep your dogs safe and distribute this to anyone who has dogs on the south coast.
In the foreground is Darcy, a Brown Silver Burmilla who Sue Hodgson rescued from her local RSPCA shelter. In the background is his soul mate, Caramel Ticked Tabby kitten, Rainsond Bridget Jones, just about to take a bite of his tail! Or is she doing the cat equivalent of a hairbrush diva?

Mew York Mew York
This photo by Lawrence Frank is available as a poster, see
www.mewyork.com

Lawrence says: “Our poster was made several years ago when we lived in New York City. Our Abyssinian cat, Tandoor, was our model. When young children see this poster for the first time I tell them that the hardest part was getting Tandoor into the subway for the trip downtown. For more than a moment, reality disappears and they stare with wonder. It’s a great thing to see!”
Enjoying the ‘creature comforts’ at home is Trystyly String of Pearls, a BSH Black Silver Spotty, in her favourite position.
