The Greenwood Commonwealth newspaper carried a heart warming tale earlier this month. A little pregnant cat was found on the streets of Greenwood, Mississippi with her six kittens behind a dilapidated staircase on East Market Street.

Workers at three local bussineses; Johnson-McAdams, Viking Range Corp. and Kimmel Aviation all came together to feed the cat, which they named as Miss Kitty. When the story was published Miss Kitty’s delighted owner, Susanne Fondren came forward to claim her lost cat. It turns out that ‘Little Bit’ (her real name) had been missing for several months after jumping out of her owner’s Chevy Blazer car and disappearing without trace.


Ironically, where ‘Little Bit’ chose to stop and have her kittens is just a few blocks away from Susanne’s workplace. Six kittens were born but sadly two had gone missing and one had died by the time she was reunited with her owner.

The remaining kittens will be adopted by Susanne’s daughters. It was a tearful reunion but a happy ending - thanks to the workers of the three firms who got together to provide food for the little black cat.
