Welcome to the National!
Good luck to all those exhibitors who are at the National…if you are reading this at the show – I hope you have a lovely day! Do visit the World of Cats and meet the Blue Peter team as well as all the great trade and charity stands.

Super Supreme!
I hope those of you who were at this year’s show had a great day out! I had a wonderful time, as one of the Household Pet judges. Being on stage, watched by so many people, for the finals was nerve wracking for me – it must have been daunting for the cats, too. Several of the cats that went across the table, took one look at the audience and seemed to take a ‘gulp’!

I always feel so honoured and privileged to handle other people’s precious cats. Every cat entered at the Supreme is already a winner and the undisputed joy is (in my opinion) that we each get to take the BEST cat/s home at the end of the day.

The Best of Variety Semi-Longhair Neuter, Supreme Neuter & Supreme Exhibit was Supreme UK Grand Premier Dairymaine Chestaton, a Red Tabby Maine Coon Male Neuter, owned and bred by Mrs J M Haynes.

Chestaton is no novice winner - he was Supreme Kitten in 2003, collected his first UK Grand Premier certificate in 2004 and has now achieved the top honour. Congratulations from everyone at OUR CATS!

The next issue of OUR CATS will contain a full Supreme Show Feature, including the full lists of winners of the Royal Canin and Franks Progold 2005 competitions.

The Indoor Cat
I recently found an excellent website – www.indoorcat.org and recommend you take a peep. The Indoor Cat Initiative is made possible by a grant from the Kenneth A. Scott Charitable Trust and The Ohio State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. The site is user-friendly and contains lots of excellent tips and advice.

The Solution
The answer to the last puzzle (Sensible/Skin Care) was RECIPE. Please see this issue for another great Wordsearch puzzle.

Imperial Classes
The Editor’s Forum on the Imperial Classes has so far provoked a good response and some very interesting letters. Thanks to those who have already responded. If you have not yet submitted your views, please see the reprinted Editor’s Forum form in this issue, on page 9. All the letters and results will be published in a forthcoming issue, very soon.

Be Prepared!
All too soon, we will find ourselves swept up with the ‘Christmas Rush’ of sending cards, shopping and generally running out of time! One thing that we can easily overlook is the closing dates for entries to the New Year’s early shows, coming up after the holidays in 2006. Do remember to get your show entries off in time!

The Coventry & Leicester is one of the popular shows that reaches its capacity quickly. The C & L Committee urges you to act now!

The show is on 25th February 2006 and the venue is once again Bingley Hall, The County Showground, Stafford.

Schedules are available from me at 46, Severn Drive, Perton, Staffs, WV6 7QL (please note SAE for 100gms). This year, penning will be by MALCOLM’S PENNING, for the first time.

Mr Tony Gillson’s critique for PERSIAN - BLUE OR LILAC SMOKE NEUTER: Should have read LEWIS’ BUNCHILLIE SILVERLINING and not, BUNCHILLIE KISSMEKATE, as stated. Please note also that Bunchille Silverlining is female and not male!

Apologies for two incorrect captions:
Malcolm Brace’s photograph was incorrectly captioned as being “steward John Bloor with Sargenta Silver Willow”. Malcolm is actually pictured with Mrs Sharon Wood’s Niterap Makosi! Our apologies to all concerned.

Gr Ch Kresta Edwin was described as a Black Silver Tabby instead of a BLUE SILVER TABBY!
