ANYONE wishing to learn more about the treatment of cats with cancer, will find the FAB Annual Conference on Saturday, 15 October, at the Apollo Hotel, Basingstoke of interest.
FAB has brought together well-known speakers from three veterinary schools to share their knowledge and provide practical advice for veterinary surgeons, nurses and other carers that will help cats overcome cancer. The FAB Conference is sponsored by Royal Canin.
The diagnosis of the more common cancers of cats and the options for their treatment will be discussed by Dan Batchelor from the University of Liverpool, while Sheila Wills, FAB Resident, University of Bristol, will cover the treatment of cancers with radioiodine. The use of radiotherapy will be discussed by Ellie Mardell of the University of Bristol.
Nicki Reed, FAB Senior Clinical Scholar at Edinburgh University, will look at the treatment of cancer using chemotherapy. Nursing cats with cancer will be discussed by Suzanne Rudd, Fortekor/FAB Nurse at Bristol University, and the changes in feline behaviour associated with cancer and its treatment will be discussed by Rachel Casey of Bristol University.
Registration costs £40.00 for FAB members, £50.00 for non-members and includes lunch, tea and coffee.
The meeting is open to all members of FAB and interested members of the public, including veterinary surgeons, veterinary nurses, cat breeders, cattery proprietors, those involved in cat rescue and cat owners.
