1st Championship Show to be held on 7 May at the G H Carnall Leisure Centre, is a show not to be missed from your show calendar. The Committee have worked very hard to get the show through to Championship and would like to take this opportunity to thanks all their loyal supporters, without them we could not have achieved this status.

The Manchester & District Cat Club have been around for many years. It was even mentioned in Fur and Feathers in the early 1900’s as part of the Manchester show week... The Club was originally started as a Pet Cat Club still gives a lot of money out over a twelve month period to various charities. The Club has a reputation for being a very friendly show and the Committee are more than willing to help new exhibitors on show day.

This year’s show is going to be one to be remembered, for the first time we will be giving prize money to BIS and Section winners as well as the usual special rosettes. Exhibitors who are Members can also enter for the Val Patina trophy it is an annual point’s award. The point’s system information can be obtained from Cup Secretary or any member of the committee. The Club also awards its Members with trophy’s, for any of their cats gaining Champion, Grand Champion, Premier, Grand Premier status. Trophies are also awarded to non pedigree cats for the Super Pet Classes. These are all given out at an awards ceremony at the AGM each year.

All these ladies as well as any of the Committee Members are more than willing to help.
The Club also holds a social evening on the first Monday of each month when it dose not fall on a bank holiday. Every one is welcome members as well as non members; we have a fantastic buffet for a token charge of £1. There is also an annual barbeque held on a Sunday in July or August date to be arranged. This has always been a great success and everyone has a great time.

Hall capacity for this year’s show is for 450 cats therefore an early entry would be advisable although schedules will be available at the Preston & Blackpool for last minute entries! We hope to see all past supporters as well as some new faces at the show and hope you all have a very successful day. Good luck to you all.
