East Anglian News

THE East Anglian Cat Association held a Cat Show at Thorpe Marriott Village Hall, near Norwich, Norfolk on Sunday, 6 March.

This was a new venue for the event, but it would appear that everything went smoothly and looks good for future shows planned to be held there later this year.

I was pleased to be invited to judge there and spent a lovely day with some super cats. My steward was Maureen Scott and this was a first time for her at the EACA.

As this was an independant show I was able to judge several different breeds. I was really impressed with a Cream Spotted Exotic, a Red Tabby Exotic, a British Cream Shorthair, and a Blue Point Birman. There were several British Blue neuters and Ragdolls, but it was also interesting to see a Sphynx in competition for the first time. He did not appear in my judging book, but attracted some interest.

Thorpe Marriott Village Hall holds a lot of happy memories for me, so it was nice to return. Prior to my husband’s car accident, we used to organise country music cabaret/concerts in the Norwich area, and this hall was one of the venues. So in addition to the lovely cats, many of the top Irish country bands/singers have also performed in the hall. It was greatly praised by them all.
As the EACA were having problems with their original hall we were only too pleased to assist in selecting Thorpe Marriott. Well done to Olive and Fred for all their hard work in putting on the shows. The rosettes were lovely.

Here’s looking to a next time.
