Two poems and thoughts on the theme of a cat purring

ALIEN VOICE

Cornflower blue cacophony,
Azure, sometimes;
Timbre on the horizon,
Sunlit, but guilty of

Purple passages;
Undulating, never unctuous,
Rolling like sleep-fall on times
of Roses.

LANGUAGE LESSON

Place your hand on my belly
and appreciate the reasonableness of what I say.

Open your ears for once
to the logic of my arguments.

Observe my body stuttering, my voice guttering, and then, if you still haven’t got the point,

bury your face in my fur,
breathe deeply;
all will be revealed.

What a day for a teenage Korat!

Helen Hawkin’s Korat, UK Gr Ch & Gr Pr Koorahk Benjakalyani had a very special day at the Preston & Blackpool show. Helen said: “UK Gr Ch & Gr Pr Koorahk Benjakalyani (Benjie) gained her Grand Premier title at almost 14 years of age at the Preston & Blackpool Show on 26 March. Benjie was born on 21 June 1991 to my first Korat queen, Gr Ch Sawatao Ariannaidd Glas (Arian), by Jen’s boy, Ch Aerostar Yin Dee (the first GCCF Korat Champion).

Both parents are now sadly no longer with us, but lived to grand old ages. Benjie was the second only UK Gr Ch Korat female and this was attained at 11 years old! I began showing her in Neuter Classes in 2002, and she went straight to Premier in 3 straight shows with numerous Red Card Days and nominated BIS’s. She started entering Grand Classes last year and from six shows she has come away with 3 Grands and 3 Reserves.
I think she is absolutely amazing!”

It’s a dogs life for 10 year old Persee!

Elizabeth Evans’ Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, ‘Persee’, thinks it’s all a ‘bit of a dogs life’! Here he is taking his first peep of Ireland on his 10th birthday. He celebrated it at Dun Laoghaire, with a visit to the Irish Supreme Cat Show. At least Persee got to ride in the passenger seat, whilst his three feline companions occupied the rear of the car.

Don’t think this look will catch on Nigel!
