The Club’s AGM was held on Sunday, 10 April 2005, and the Committee Members due to stand down by rotation were re-elected. Due to the resignation of Katie Rose during the past year, there remains one vacancy on the Committee.

We are still receiving plenty of enquiries for kittens for sale, so please contact Nicky Wareing on 0114 284 6343 when your kittens are born or if you would like your name added to our free Breeders List. Any overdue subs (currently £6/£8.50) should be sent to our Treasurer, Sue Lloyd. It was agreed that due to ever increasing costs, as from 1 January 2006, subs will rise by £1 to £7 for single membership and £9.50 for joint membership. Chester & North Wales Cat Club
The Club will be making its annual visit to Chester Zoo on Saturday, 22 May, meeting at the main gate at 11.30am. All Members and friends are welcome to join the Committee at one of the super highlights of the Club’s calendar.
We try to arrange for fine weather, but nevertheless, even if it is raining, we always have a great day out, so do come along, bring the children, they will love to see the new babies that are usually born earlier in the year.

It was unanimously agreed by the meeting that the position of President would be left vacant for the year in memory of Mrs Beryl Lyon, who sadly died earlier this year. Both Mrs Sally Goulty and Miss Elsie Hummerston are Vice-Presidents.

Kentish Cat Society
The Society held its AGM on Sunday, 13 March at the Village Hall in Otford. It was well attended.
Mrs Cynthia Stephens was re-elected as President; Vice-Presidents are Mrs Joyce Green, Mrs Betty Lauder, Mrs Fiona Pragnell and Mrs Robine Pocock. Mrs Barbara Darby was elected as Secretary. GCCF Delegates are Mrs Gwenda Leedham and Mr Charles Patey.
Mrs Tina Edwards, Mr Bill Levinson, Mrs Pam Potter and Mr John Power were elected to the Committee with Mrs Carolyn Kempe and Mr Robin Kempe being co-opted. Cups won at the show were presented by our President. A very productive raffle was held in aid of the welfare fund, and the tea afterwards was greatly enjoyed by all.
A delicious Fork Supper was held on 16 April in Otford Village Hall. A very entertaining (and filling) evening was enjoyed by all and again a very productive raffle was held.
Our next event will be the Garden Party on 24 July in Otford in a Members garden. Applications for tickets should be made to our Treasurer, Mrs G. D. Leedham at Three Firs, Ghyll Road, Crowborough, East Sussex TN6 1SU. Tel: 01892 653976. Details were sent with AGM papers but there was some confusion over the date. Members and guests are welcome. Colourpoint BAC
The Colourpoint BAC met on Sunday, 17 April. We wish to make public figures obtained from the GCCF on the number of Colourpoint Persians being registered each year.
Registrations have fallen from 1,129 kittens/ cats in the year 2000, to 456 in 2004. This 60% decline in five years is within the context of the number of total Persian registrations approximately halving in the ten years from 1995.
Tickets must be booked in advance for the Joint Persian Seminar at Mappleborough Green Village Hall on Sunday, 15 May. The cost is £7.50 which includes a buffet lunch. The seminar starts at 12 noon and runs till 4pm and will feature Colourpoint cats and kittens from the AOC, Tortie and Tabby colour groupings as well as Self, Patched & Tabby Persians. There will be opportunities for tutorials/ assessment. Tickets are available from Mrs Patsy Knight, 79 Stoney Lane, Bloxwich, Walsall WS1 3RE. Mrs Knight’s telephone number is 01922 475677.

The Self Persian BAC will be participating in a Persian Joint Seminar on 15 May 2005 at Mappleborough Green Village Hall.
