Bumper issue!
Welcome to a ‘Bumper edition of OUR CATS online! We have a super Ragdoll Breed Feature, a Veterinary Viewpoint article on HCM, two readers’ competitions and a Nutrition trade feature – and all this is on top of five show features! Sadly, there is no space for two of our regular columns, ‘On the Prowl’ and ‘Cyprus Calling’ – but they will be back!
Chermicican Blue Amour
OUR CATS apologises for an error in one of the photograph captions in the recent OUR CATS Wyvern Feature. To set the record straight, Mr & Mrs Sanders’ Bi-Colured kitten, Chermicican Blue Amour (pictured right) was Best in Show Persian at the Wyvern Cat Club Show - congratulations to a beautiful kitten and his proud owners.

Foster mum
Hurricane Rita has brought together quite an unlikely pair… a mother cat, taking care of a baby squirrel!
A family in Pasadena, Texas found the squirrel in a ditch after Rita blew through. So they took it home, and named it Rocky. They weren’t quite sure what to do with it, until their cat started nursing Rocky along with her own kittens! So far, it’s a perfect match; the cat doesn’t seem to mind the extra baby at all! Amazing!
Fireworks
Pets face many hazards outside, and with the seasonal firework festivities fast approaching and longer nights, it’s a time for increased vigilance and awareness of the dangers pets face outside the home.

To help owners, PDSA, the UK’s leading veterinary charity, has produced two new pet care leaflets, ‘Fireworks and Pet Safety’ and ‘Pet Safety Outdoors’. The new leaflets are available from PDSA PetAid hospitals and PDSA charity shops nationwide. Further information can be obtained from www.pdsa.org.uk or by calling freephone 0800 917 2509.
An alternative innovation
A hi-tec computerised health scan that reveals the state of a pet’s health has been recently launched by on-line pet analyst. Pet Health Test offers detailed and rigorous testing of a pet’s health using electronic scanning of a pet’s bodily energy flows A sample of hair or a nail clipping from the pet is used in the computer analysis. The computer uses radionics, a method of diagnosing diseases in humans which was developed by a US doctor, Albert Abrams.

Ol’ blue eyes is back!
No, not Frank Sinatra but our very own Alan Robinson! As many of you know, Alan & Janet thought they had hung up the camera for good, due to their new ventures. However, it turns out that they will have some free weekends, after all, and so are able to be at this year’s Supreme show and a few shows next year.

As well as visiting individual homes for feline photography sessions, Alan and Janet also do ‘Cattery Photo Shoot Sessions’ – a special service offered to cattery owners.
The format for these ‘Photographic Open Days’ is that the cattery owner invites between 15-25 cat owners to have a selection of photographs taken of their cats and the cattery owner is thanked by receiving a percentage of the day’s fees. For more details or bookings, please contact Alan on 01677 470604 or alan@catimages.co.uk
