Statement from Axis Cook Media Ltd/OUR CATS Newspaper
At today's GCCF Council meeting (25 June 2008). the delegates voted by a clear majority to accept the contract for the publication of OUR CATS as requested by Axis Cook Media Ltd.
All clauses under dispute have now been resolved, including the issue of Judge's reports. The newspaper was ratified as the Official Journal of the GCCF, following the earlier vote at the April Council meeting.
As from August 2008, the new version of OUR CATS will be published by Axis Cook Media Ltd, with Mr Robert Illingworth as Managing Director and Mr Nick Mays as Editor.
Axis Cook Media Ltd/OUR CATS will issue further statements when it is deemed appropriate, but will be taking no account of negative opinions and derogatory comments published on various Internet Websites, Forums and Lists.
The business of the company is, and will remain, the publication of the Official Journal of the GCCF and producing a high quality publication for all readers.
Axis Cook Media Ltd/OUR CATS look forward to working with the newly elected Executive Committee and through the Official Journal help to promote the GCCF as the voice of the UK Cat Fancy, and to assist in the betterment of the Cat Fancy as a whole.

VETS MAKE MEGA PROFITS
Veterinary Surgeons are ‘Fat Cats’ says study
A study by UK a leading accounting information company has found that out of all sectors of UK business, in the last two years, veterinary practices generated the highest return on capital employed, (ROCE).

The study by CCH found that at an impressive 37% ROCE, vets came way above the normally expected return of 10-12%. Last year supermarket and financial services chain Tesco achieved a ROCE of 12.9%.

TOP BREEDER’S KITTEN STOLEN
Cat theft in broad daylight from breeder’s home
A TOP cat exhibitor/breeder was left reeling after a brazen thief stole a Persian kitten from her own home.
Marlene Howes, of Honeymist Persians told police that the six-week-old kitten's mother, Queen of Sheba, has been pining for her offspring since she was snatched on Sunday, May. Mrs Howes, who has bred hundreds of award- winning Persian cats over 45 years, said that the kitten was extremely vulnerable and would be in desperate need of nourishment from her mother's milk.
She claims that despite providing Gloucestershire police with the address of the woman who took the kitten, they failed to act with anything approaching concern...
